Cheltenham Festival day four is headlined by the highly-anticipated blue riband race of the week, the Gold Cup.

They are going down to the start. Elimay, who ran so well behind Allaho earlier this season, looks the one to beat.

Willie Mullins dominates the mares’ chase betting. Elimay, my selection, is 2.38, but Colreevy, her stablemate, is into 3.8 (11-4).

What a race! Another second for Paul Townend despite a power-packed ride on Billaway. A cracking training performance from Will Biddick as Red and a confident ride from Lorcan Williams aboard Porlock Bay.

This race is run over the course and trip of the Gold Cup. I feel Billaway has a huge chance. He finds plenty for pressure.

Jack Kennedy said: “I’ve dreamt about this day for a long time. I can’t believe it. I can’t thank Henry, Mike and Barry Maloney enough. I don’t think there’s anything that will top that.”

That was a cracking race. Frodon gave them a tow into it but the Irish dominated. The winner jumped brilliantly under Jack Kennedy.
