33 mins: England’s midfield play has been impressive tonight, the pace which they’re working the ball and how quickly they win it back. Mount attempts to regain the ball in Poland’s final third but arrives just too late to challenge Krychowiak and he takes the man out from behind.

30 mins: Good save from Szczesny! England work the ball down the left before it’s played inside to Foden. He lays it off to Kane who sets himself and fires off a shot towards the near post. Szczesny is ready though and leaps across to his right to parry the ball wide of goal.

27 mins: It should be two! England win the ball back quickly once again a burst open Poland. Maguire with a pass to Kane who lays it to Mount who sends Sterling into the box. Foden is free on the right side of the box, Sterling draws in the goalkeeper and the defenders but can’t find the final ball into his Man City teammate as his pass is deflected away.

21 mins: England give Poland the chance for an immediate repsonse when Harry Maguire gives away a free kick just outside the box. Rybus is the man to flick the set piece into England’s area but Harry Kane boots it clear.

19 mins: GOAL! Harry Kane converts from the penalty spot. He waits for Wojciech Szczesny to dive then slots it straight down the middle.

18 mins: Penalty to England! Foden wins the ball in midfield and slots it forward to Sterling who goes on a storming run into the box. He carries the ball past two defenders before being clipped by Michal Helik in the area. He goes down and Bjorn Kuipers points to the spot.

15 mins: England are having some joy on the left hand side. Mount and Chilwell are combining well to work the ball into the box. Chilwell’s cross wins England their first corner. Phillips swings it into the far post but Poland work the ball away.

12 mins: Rice does well to keep hold of the ball in midfield before heading forward on an enterprising run. He finds Foden, wide of the right, who switches the play for England. Sterling cuts inside from the opposite wing with the ball and flicks it into the box where Foden dives at it but can’t get his head to the ball before it is cleared.

9 mins: A mini counter-attack for England sees Raheem Sterling carry the deal up the middle. Foden makes a run into the box and takes possession as Sterling picks him out. He cuts back inside and comes together with Grzegorz Krychowiak inside the box. Foden goes to ground but referee Bjorn Kuipers isn’t interested in giving a penalty.
