Milivojević hammers home to defeat Leicester
Leicester avoided defeat on Boxing Day against Manchester United to remain above them in the table, but the failure to win allowed Everton to move ahead of the Foxes into second place to make it a Merseyside one-two at the top of the table. However, a draw today would be enough for Leicester to take back second place, but Brendan Rodgers’s side will be targeting much more than that on their journey to south London. They’re poised to welcome back fit-again defender Caglar Soyuncu to aid that quest, though Ricardo Pereira remains injured.
Palace need something of a change in fortunes after following the 7-0 humbling by Liverpool with a comprehensive 3-0 defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday, despite their opponents being reduced to 10 men early on. With the pressure on Roy Hodgson to turn their slide down the table around, Palace could close the gap to the top half of the table with a home victory and changes are expected among the Eagles, although Gary Cahill remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. 22’: Superb defending by Leicester, as Zaha was clean through on goal for the home side, but dithered, and this gave the away side time to close down the former Manchester United winger.
That was a chance for Palace.

17’: Leicester penalty saved! Iheanacho’s shot was tame in truth, and was comfortably saved by Vicente Guaita.
That’s not a penalty the striker will want to revisit again.

16’: And now Choudhury returns the favour to Milivojevic, who gives the Palace skipper a taste of his own medicine with a similarly robust tackle.

13’: Palace’s Milivojevic can count himself pretty lucky, as his robust challenge on Hamza Choudhury goes unpunished by referee Graham Scott.

Leicester are sporting a very simplistic, yet very suave, away number.

How will Leicester do with star striker Vardy rested for today’s game?
So far this season, Vardy has started 13 of Leicester’s 15 games this campaign.
In October, he missed out on the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, due to a calf injury.
He made a 30-minute appearance against Arsenal in the following game, which The Foxes won 1-0.
In short, Leicester have shown that they cannot win without Vardy.
But could that all change today?
