Ahmed Aboudouh is a consultant editor at The Independent. Before joining The Independent he covered the 2011 Tahrir Square uprising as a correspondent based in Cairo and as a senior editor, he later oversaw the coverage of conflicts in Libya, Yemen, and Syria and wrote extensively about the rise of Isis in Iraq and Syria. He has recently been focusing on the competition between the US and China and its implications on countries worldwide. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London
