90 mins: Timo Werner comes on for the final few minutes to replace Kai Havertz. Chelsea really do have a strong bench to call on, it’s right up there with Manchester City for attacking depth.

87 mins: The icing on the cake for Chelsea will be a goal for Kai Havertz. He’s played most of the game alongside Lukaku and the two combine to almost give Chelsea a third. Once again Lukaku shows off his strength to hold up the ball as Havertz runs to the right side of the box. The pass comes in from Lukaku and Havertz takes it first time. He almost threads the ball in between the legs of Leno but the Arsenal goalkeeper does just enough to keep it from crossing the line.

84 mins: Hakim Ziyech comes on for Chelsea for the first time since injuring his shoulder in the Super Cup match against Villarreal. Mason Mount is the man replaced for the Blues.

81 mins: Folarin Balogun comes on for Arsenal replacing Gabriel Martinelli for the final 10 minutes. Romelu Lukaku is still bemused as to how he didn’t score that last chance.

Still, Lukaku picks up the ball on the right and slots it neatly into the box for Mount. Mount shoots as he gets to the loose ball and forces Leno into another decent save. The ball comes loose though and Havertz isn’t able to get there before Arsenal clear the danger.

78 mins: Jorginho tracks back to win the ball in his own half. He gives it to Kante who drives through the midfield before laying the ball off to Mount. Mount switches the play out to Lukaku on the right and he brings it into the box before leaving the ball to Reece James. James turns back before chipping it into the middle. Lukaku wins the header and belts it at goal. Leno reacts and sticks out a left hand, turning the ball upwards and onto the crossbar to deny Lukaku a second. Fantastic save!

75 mins: Reece James is okay. He’s been checked over and given the okay to plan on. It looked bad for a minute there when he first went to ground but the 21-year-old is playing on.

73 mins: Reece James takes a heavy hit going for an aerial ball. Tavares collides with the Chelsea defender as they both try to win the ball and James drops to the ground. The medical staff are on quickly as James looks like he’s been knocked out.

71 mins: Mateo Kovacic’s day is over and he gets replaced with N’Golo Kante. That’s not a bad change is it.

69 mins: Chelsea have weathered the Arsenal storm and are threatening the goal once again. Alonso receives the ball high on the left but slips as he brings it into the box. He manages to poke the ball to James on the edge of the box and James goes for goal. The shot takes a deflection and goes out for a corner.

66 mins: Mikel Arteta makes his third change whilst his side are on top. Nuno Tavares replaces Kieran Tierney.

Chelsea break on the counter and send the ball up to Lukaku on the right wing. He cuts back inside and takes on Lokonga. The 21-year-old tussles with the Chelsea forward but ends up fouling Lukaku and giving Chelsea a free kick in Arsenal’s half.
