21 mins: Close. Henderson chips the ball up the left wing and Robertson takes hold. He carries it into the box and cuts it back to Salah who shoots and forces Lloris into a low save. 

18 mins: Liverpool’s corner comes to nothing and Spurs are able to take the ball up the pitch and win a corner of their own. Lo Celso swings it into the box and the Reds are able to clear without too much trouble. 

15 mins: Robertson comes forward on the left and passes it inside to Curtis Jones. He dinks the ball into the area where Firmino and Robertson himself close in on the ball. Toby Alderweireld is aware though and he knocks it behind for a corner.

12 mins: Liverpool win a free kick in the final third on the inside left. Andy Robertson whips it deep into the box and Roberto Firmino wins the header. He puts it back across goal aiming for the bottom corner but Lloris dives across to grab hold of it. 

9 mins: Ben Davies gets forward on the left side and attempts a cross that Alexander-Arnold blocks out behind. Bizarrely Liverpool are awarded a goal kick.

6 mins: Mo Salah pressures Eric Dier as Tottenham pass the ball around their back line and he draws some excitement out of the crowd. Dier passes it to Lloris who boots it away. Tentative start from Spurs.

3 mins: Trent Alexander-Arnold takes a shot from range and wins a corner. The corner is flicked on at the near post and comes to Henderson whose ball back in is claimed by Hugo Lloris. Tonight’s game is the only match of the day being played in front of fans. 2,000 of them as Merseyside is still in Tier 2. 

Kick off: There is a moment of respect and applause for former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier, who passed away earlier this week, before the game gets underway. Mo Salah kicks off and Jordan Henderson wins a throw in.

No time to waste as Liverpool and Tottenham head out onto the pitch at Anfield. Reaction from the King Power stadium to come but our focus switches to Merseyside now. Whoever wins this will finish the day on top of the table. Here’s a reminder of the teams:

They were so restrictive of Leicester’s forward players and took advantage of a couple of moments of good fortune to give them an unassailable lead. Another frustrating match for Brendan Rodgers against Carlo Ancelotti. The Foxes have lost four out of seven home games now this season.
