Greenwood is truly unflappable…

The first half comes to a close. It’s been a much better spectacle than last weekend’s Premier League meeting. Liverpool started well, taking the lead through Salah and looking back to their best for a period of the game. But United responded, with Greenwood netting a clinical equaliser after a brilliant pass from Rashford. All to play for after the break.

United threaten again on the break. Rashford skips past Williams and finds Greenwood, who in turn lays the ball into the path of Pogba. The latter’s first-time shot fizzes just wide.

Yet again, Shaw gets in down the left, racing onto a pass from Van de Beek. The left-back’s driven cross is parried by Alisson, and McTominay’s powerful shot is blocked on its way in by Thiago. United are ending the half strongly.

Pogba takes the free kick, trying to curl it around the wall rather than over it. He can’t generate enough bend on the ball and it flashes wide of the left post.

Alisson sells Fabinho short with a back pass, almost allowing Greenwood to intercept. The Liverpool man is forced to slide in and bring Greenwood down, just outside the box. He goes into the book and United will have a free kick around 20 yards out…

Milner slides a pass through to Robertson, who scampers to the byline and lifts a cross towards the back post. It’s just too long for Firmino and not quite accurate enough to find Salah. Shaw heads it behind, and from the corner Milner fires a shot wide from the edge of the box.

Salah is dispossessed by Shaw, who charges forward and finds Cavani to his left. The striker’s cut back runs into the feet of Rashford, but he finds his path blocked by Thiago.

Another Shaw corner comes into the Liverpool box, and another United player heads off target. This time it’s McTominay, who can only glance his effort over the bar.
