Spurs are hoping to kickstart a run of form while the Hammers are concentrating solely on survival

Tottenham Hotspur host West Ham United in Tuesday’s evening Premier League kick-off as Jose Mourinho’s side aim to revive their hopes of a European place.

Spurs were denied victory against Manchester United in their first game since the break after Bruno Fernandes’ late equaliser from the penalty spot. However, there’s reason for optimism, with a full-strength attacking line-up now at Mourinho’s disposal as Dele Alli returns from suspension.

West Ham succumbed to a miserable home defeat against Wolves in their opening fixture and are staring down the barrel of relegation, currently only outside the bottom-three by way of goal difference. Follow all the action live after the conclusion of Leicester vs Brighton:

85′ – Tottenham 2-0 West Ham

Looks all over now for West Ham, who will have to wait again for results elsewhere to see if they stay out of the relegation zone.

TOT sub: Winks on for Son

GOAL! – Tottenham 2-0 West Ham

And that’s the game! Lamela robs possession deep in the Spurs half, finds Son near the halfway line and he just has to thread it through the middle for Kane. The striker races through and beats Fabianski – two for Spurs and three points.

80′ – Tottenham 1-0 West Ham

Into the final 10 minutes. Lamela almost finds an opening before Kane loses possession, but Bowen fails to find his man on the counter. It’s very open, very ragged, very much lacking the usual refined quality that most of these players are capable of.

76′ – Tottenham 1-0 West Ham

Anderson receives a short corner on the edge of the box and shoots low toward the near post, but it’s off target by a couple of yards. Sissoko bundles over Antonio unnecessarily to concede a free-kick—and after the set-piece comes in, Bowen strikes a low effort against the outside of the post. Closest West Ham have come.

72′ – Tottenham 1-0 West Ham

20 or so minutes for West Ham to come up with something. As it stands, they’ll be staying level on points with Bournemouth who are in the relegation zone.

YELLOW CARD

2020-06-23T20:42:13.260Z

68′ – Tottenham 1-0 West Ham

Oh dear. When conceding first this season, West Ham have played 14, lost 14. Not a great omen for Moyes as he looks to get his team back in this game. Davies chases back Bowen and makes a slide tackle which completely misses the ball – yellow card.

GOAL!

2020-06-23T20:39:31.856Z

GOAL! – Tottenham 1-0 West Ham

64′ – This one will count and it’s an own goal for Tomas Soucek! A corner bounces off two or three players and Soucek deflects it in off his inner leg. No VAR this time surely – Spurs lead!

2020-06-23T20:37:48.390Z

62′ – Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Another chance at either end. Antonio latches onto a long pass and lashes a half-volley miles over the bar on the run. Then Balbuena makes a customary error, Lamela races into the box, Balbuena almost brings him down and the Argentinian attacker fires off-target.

2020-06-23T20:34:11.910Z

59′ – Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Huge chance for Spurs. A West Ham corner leads to a Tottenham counter, four on three, Son feeds it to Kane in the area…and he screws his effort across the face of goal and a yard wide.

TOT sub: Dele Alli off, Erik Lamela on

2020-06-23T20:32:58.460Z

58′ – Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Kane sends a strike over the bar at one end; Rice hits a deflected effort wide at the other. A little more back-and-forth in the game in this half as we approach the hour mark.

2020-06-23T20:29:06.856Z

54′ – Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Big chance for West Ham. A move down the right sees Bowen cross to Fornals and he swings at the ball…but doesn’t catch it cleanly. Well wide of goal and that could be a big moment.

YELLOW CARD

2020-06-23T20:25:45.953Z

50′ – Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Aurier down the right this time and crosses near post; Kane tries a back-heel at goal but Fabianski makes the block at close quarters and the ball bounces back off the striker and out.

A moment later he catches Balbuena late after a clearance and is booked.

2020-06-23T20:24:36.276Z

48′ – Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Dier suddenly breaks forward, runs between the West Ham midfielders and curls a shot at goal – a yard or two wide. A nice bit of opportunistic play, though.

KICK OFF

2020-06-23T20:20:47.630Z

Second half time. We’re back underway.

2020-06-23T20:08:37.180Z

Who will make the first move after the break? Three points here could be massive for either side.

HALF TIME

2020-06-23T20:04:48.323Z

HALF TIME

Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Not the most free-flowing half, but it did come to life with those two chances for Spurs near the break.

2020-06-23T20:03:34.306Z

45+2′ – Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Dele Alli wants a free-kick on the edge of the box after a theatrical fall, but the ref’s not interested. Davies crosses for Lucas Moura in the box and its a great chance – but he steers it wide. Had to test Fabianski there.

VAR

2020-06-23T20:02:14.470Z

Hold on…hold on…. VAR are taking a look for offside…and it’s disallowed!

Still 0-0, sorry Spurs fans.

Three minutes added on.
